LIVE WELL Exercise Clinic is the Ultra-Private Gym for people with A health focus

Sara Hodson is a Clinical Exercise Physiologist and Founder/CEO at LIVE WELL Exercise Clinic. She founded LIVE WELL in 2011 to follow her passion and vision that every individual with a health concern can benefit from exercise and live a healthy and full life. Sara has pioneered the movement of medical fitness by creating clinics that practice exercise as medicine. She identified this gap between medical care and fitness after working for 10 years in hospital-based cardiac rehab. LIVE WELL Exercise Clinic is the Ultra-Private Gym for people with health concerns. Her clinic provides the expert guidance, community, and accountability that people need to live a healthy lifestyle. LIVE WELL now has 17 locations across Canada with 5 set to open in the next 6 months. Sara is a proud mom to 4 children, ages 10-16.

Anne is a mother who was overweight and depressed who has been a member of Live Well community for 6 and a half years. She tells us how Live Well has helped her with her mental health and has improved her family’s quality of life.

On today’s podcast Nicolette discusses with Sara of Live Well and Anne a member, why her Exercise clinics are doing so well. From community to the expertise of knowing what exercises are good for your individual diseases and situation. Unlike regular gyms which can be intimidating Live Well are friendly, approachable and want you to use their facilities. The strong sense of community and inspiration is what kept them strong through Covid-19, when they took their programs online so that everyone could keep exercising. They discuss the importance of getting your kids to also move their bodies, through sports or free play is also important to the future generations. Sara and Anne end on tips for you to start today; Start slow and small, look for community, find someone to keep you accountable, be kind to yourself and do it for yourself!
