Have you ever met someone so awesome that you just want to clone them so that everybody can benefit from their amazingness? That’s how we feel about Whistler’s Julia Murray from Hooked on Plants.

Julia is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, Vegan Blogger and Chef, 80/20 Plants Co-Founder and Teacher, and Olympian. And if that wasn’t enough she also has her own cereal brand, Jules Fuel (which you can purchase at The Green Moustache) and is co-founding a new medicinal mushroom company (follow @staywyldorganics to find out where and when they will be available).

We were super stoked to interview Julia on this week’s Eat Real to Heal podcast and highly recommend giving it a listen.

If you’re familiar with Julia you’ll know she shares a ton of amazing recipes on her website and social media. She was kind enough to share this delicious Hollandaise Sauce recipe with us.  If you make it, be sure to tag @hookedonplants  and @greenmoustachecafe on Instagram!

Julia’s Vegan Hollandaise Sauce

A hollandaise sauce to bring on back that egg benny vibe. Make a big batch of this because you’ll be wanting to drizzle it on everything.

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup cashews, soaked overnight (or 10 minutes in hot water), then strained

  • 1/4 cup lemon juice (juice of 1 1/2 lemons)

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened, unflavoured plant milk (almond, coconut or soy)

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tbsp nutritional yeast

  • 1 tsp turmeric powder

  • 1/4 tsp sea salt

Method:

  1. Blend! Seriously. That’s it. Until smooth.

  2. Drizzle away

Bon appétit!
