About 97% of the land in North America has been treated with glyphosate [and prevents us from getting all of the vitamins and minerals that we need from crops]
— Dr. Bonnie Kaplan

On today’s podcast Nicolette and Dr. Kaplan discus the link between the brain and nutrition and how micronutrients are the foundation for brain metabolism. We need to teach adults and kids that real food can make cells grow, develop and function which can resolve the symptoms in mental disorders. Brain and gut health are related and the best thing you can do for your brain is look after your gut microbiome. They also bring up the topic of money and people thinking they can’t afford to eat well. Bonnie talks about the studies done by supplementing your diet with complex micronutrient pills and how effective it can be. “The brain needs the whole spectrum of everything you can give it in balance”.

“a lot of individuals who have these mental health conditions have a whole onslaught of symptoms that come along with it” - Dr bonnie kaplan
