Episode #063

Judith Hoilett

Trauma, Stress and Emotianal healing

Judith talks plant medicine verses modern medicine

Today Nicolette is talking to Judith Hoilett, who is Sarinda Hoilett’s mother from last week's podcast. Judith’s guiding principle behind all of her work has been the Integration of Energy, Body, Mind and Spirit. Her formal studies have included qualifying as a Registered Nurse, a BA in Modern Languages and a Masters Degree in Adult Education & Counselling Psychology. Judith has 30 years experience providing counselling to individuals and couples who have struggled with Childhood Trauma, Addictions, Relationship Issues, Depression and Anxiety.

For the past several years Judith has supported participants in Spirit Medicine Ceremonies in the processing and integration of their experiences because she feels, “the healing isn’t in the cup but what one does with the valuable openings that are gifted by spirit medicines.”

I feel [...] we are practicing 19the century medicine in the 21st century.
— Judith Hoilett

Today Judith shares with us her healing journey from trauma, stress and emotional healing to getting off her medication for high blood pressure, diabetes and thyroid. How she started working with women and sexual assault and what steps to do if you have or know someone who has been sexually assaulted. Judith then shares the work she does now and how she did a rebalancing course and found spiritual medicine for therapeutic healing for herself and then explored it more to help counsel others through the experience. Nicolette and Judith discuss plant medicine versus modern medicine and how they are using 19th century medicine in the 21st century.

“healing is not in the cup, it not a magic bullet but it certainly is an amazing opener and holder so that traumatic memories can be experienced in a less traumatic way”

- Judith Hoilett
